Im Endkampf treffen mit Elena Quirici und Iryna Zaretska die besten Karatekas, in der Kategorie bis 68 kg, aller Zeiten aufeinander. Beide können sich einen weiteren historischen Triumpf sichern. Elena der zweite Weltmeistertitel (nach Javier Gomez 1982 in Taipei) für die Schweiz oder Zaretska der dritte Titel hintereinander nach 2021 (Dubai) und 2018 (Madrid).
Das Finale findet am Samstag, 28. Oktober 2023, ab 13.27 Uhr statt.

TRUE CLASH OF TITANS IN FEMALE KUMITE -68KG
Two of the most dominating figures of international Karate will fight for the title of Female Kumite -68kg in a clash of two fan favourites and Olympians. Elena Quirici of Switzerland and Irina Zaretskaof Azerbaijan will compete for the World title in one of the highlights of the quest for gold.
Swiss star Quirici who is an Olympian, current Grand Winner of the category and defending European champion edged Alizee Agier of France in an extremely tight match 1-0. It is the first World final for three-time continental champion Quirici.
Meanwhile, Zaretska defends the World crown that she won two years ago in Dubai. A two-time World titleholder, Zaretska who is also an Olympic Games silver medallist defeated Indonesia’s Ceyco Georgia Zefanya 5-5 and aims at keeping her status as one of the most successful athletes of today’s Karate.
Quirici and Zaretska have starred in the most thrilling rivalry of the season, with the two fan-favourite karatekas meeting in final after final. In their latest encounters, Zaretska won in the Karate 1-Premier League Dublin while Quirici claimed the gold at the EKF Championships.
